UCSD Garden Spotlight: South Mesa Gardens

This Summer, our Wellness Ambassadors had a meeting over at the South Mesa Gardens over at the Mesa Graduate School Housing. The gardens were created to give fresh, organic food to the residents and their families in UC San Diego’s Graduate Student housing. The community garden hosts a wide range of fruits and vegetables regularly kept by the residents and their family themselves.

Community gardens are so important to highlight sustainability, introducing organic food to your diet, gaining an appreciation of working for your food, and much more. We live in a growing urban landscape, so it’s amazing to have places like community gardens in UC San Diego so we can do our part in promoting the importance of knowing where our food comes from and being able to sustainably enjoy it.
